Our lives tell a story.
During the fall of 2015, Christy and I found ourselves questioning the story we were telling. We had well-paying jobs, a cozy home, and sound retirement planning that promised to one day enable us to live the life of our dreams. However, early access to that life seemed off limits, leaving us restless and unfulfilled. Life had become a sequence of steps that unlock a better tomorrow. Yet we trudged on.
But the truth is, happiness can’t be found in a compensation package or dividend check; it’s a state of being that can only be realized when pursued.
So we faced a decision: Stay in the secure comfort of a formulaic life or step out into the unknown in search of a better story.
We chose the latter. We quit our jobs, sold our home and possessions, and bought a camper. We’re traveling the country in search of great stories in the hopes we’ll discover our own along the way.
We don’t have all the answers. We’re simply no longer afraid of the questions. However, we do know one thing: Wherever we may go, story will always be our way home.
This blog is a place for us to share our adventures and the discovery of our own story in the process. We’ve penned the opening line and we’d love for you to join us along the way.
